John,
I left the message asking you to show how you tie in iTunes. Thanks so much for the rapid response to my request!!! You have become one of my top sources I turn to for information.
Have a great New Year!
Josh – glad you found it helpful. Did it make sense?
John,
It made sense. That's one of the things I love about your site, you present the information in an easy to understand way.
Thanks again,
Josh
It's easy to understand because that's how I utilize information.
Hey John, check out Blubrry's PowerPress Podcasting Plugin say that three times fast. I am just looking into and look's like a good podcast solution.
Jeff – Thanks. What does the plugin do?
(disclosure: I work with Blubrry, makers of PowerPress)
It's the most full featured WordPress podcasting plugin available. It adds a field to your “New Post” pages that allows you to put the URL of a media file to be associated with your post and used as an enclosure in your RSS feed. When you put media in the field, it will generate a video or audio player on your site, which will allow you display your show to those who are uninterested in iTunes or just checking out one episode.
You can find more at http://blubrry.com/powerpress
Rob,
If I am reading your post correctly, do you then lose the potential visitors that may find your site by clicking on your podcast when it's linked with another on iTunes? Your blubrry certainly sounds cleaner, I'm just weighing the advantage versus potential disadvantage? (Also with regard to posting video podcast on YouTube, where it may be found and searched independently and possibly add to SEO as an inbound link).
Thanks for your insight…
Jody
I don't it as a loss. If anything, I'd gain a podcast subscriber.
Great info, John! i was struggling with this for my website and found a different host (Podbean – it's free), but I like the integration with iTunes. Do you pay to have iTunes host? Is there a way to find all of your podcasts on iTunes? Is the graphic a photo of you, or do you have title and content info somewhere?
Jody – Just search for your podcast. The graphic was uploaded when I created the Podcast in Blip.TV.

Great video, I am am wondering still, is there a player that can be embedded on any website that just streams content from a particular Itunes channel?
I'm not sure, but I doubt it.
The reason I asked is because I wanted to embed a player onto my FaceBook fan page wherein one of the tabs will say Podcast and when users click on that tab they see the player and within it all the audio from my itunes podcast channel and the choose which ones to listen to online or download. I think something like that will be neat
Yeah – unfortunately (for you, not for subscribers) iTunes requires people
to opt-in to subscribing.
Well I guess I will stick to a picture that once the click start the ITunes store app like your example. I would have really liked to have the player though. I will keep looking, might just find something. Thanks though for the video
Anytime!
