In general it would seem Facebook is more of a communication tool than an fundraising tool, but we've seen a lot of event based fundraising groups (i.e. AHA, LAF) do a great job raising money on FB with "fundraising widgets" that individuals can put on their personal FB page - the widget shows your goal, how much you've raised and allows people to click on a link that takes them back to your personal fundraising page. And any interaction someone takes on your widget posts a message back to your wall/newsfeed so the message spreads like wildfire :)

I would like to see a piece on how Facbook profiles can also work as a driver for NP's. Pages are great for demo based and analytic tools, but the engagement is solid with profiles. Engagement = Loyalty = Action.

Thanks John! I love your site

Joe - Thanks for stopping by!

These are recommendations or best practiced on optimizing the donation
process. Blackbaud has done a lot of research into optimizing and targeting
donations. Examples in the US? The Lupus Foundation of America, Help Haiti,
The American Redcross and Epic Change are just a few examples that come to
mind.
