It seems that most nonprofits have their priorities in order for 2012.
According to the 2012 Nonprofit Communications Trends Report, they are putting their website as a top priority, followed by email marketing, then Facebook. This makes sense when you remember that:
- Your website is where you have the most control around your brand.
- Email is where you get most of your online donations.
- And Facebook is where you get new donors and volunteers for your nonprofit.
- Direct mail is still very important though!
Following is the infographic showing where nonprofits are putting their focus in 2012:

nice nice! thank u!
Where does Google+ fit into all of this? Have you used Google+ with your non-profit? Is it worth the time and effort it takes to build and maintain?
It’s certainly not in the top six. Look under “Free Resources” at the top of this page. I have a lot of articles / videos on Google Plus.

Chiming in with Tracy. While Facebook is a “known” quantity…I think that savvy non-profits will need to explore and establish some connections in the Google+ community. Will be fascinating to see how it trends; am thinking that G+ might have more to offer non-profits in the long run. Just guessing.
I bet you’re right.
Thanks for the article. Very interesting.
Interesting post. Thanks!
