Social media has not changed fundraising. Asking for money still requires steadily building relationships over time.

The only exception to this rule is with disasters, and you can’t bank on disasters to pay next month’s rent.

      Thanks Beth! Yes, biggest complaint I hear is that it’s “hard to raise money” with Facebook. Usually they’re viewing Facebook as a transactional tool for raising money.

    Great job John. I love to start conversations with organization by shocking them by saying: fundraising is not about the money (then I tell them to stop using donors as ATMs). Most times, people’s faces drop! Love it!
